New Age of Accountability

Hospitals in Ontario have moved into a “New Age”.  The “New Age” emphasizes Accountability as a cornerstone principle for the delivery of health care services to the residents of the province of Ontario.

Each year, through their planning process, hospitals are accountable to identify the services they will deliver, key performance indicators focusing on such items as quality, human resources and system utilization.  These indicators, service level volumes and hospital annual funding are then negotiated with the Local Health Integration Office.

We are pleased to provide our community the opportunity to view our 2010 Hospital Accountability Agreement.  To view our documents please click on the links below:

The 2008 – 2010 Hospital Service Accountability Agreement planning and budgeting process is currently underway.  All hospitals and LHIN’s are hoping to reach new agreements by April 1, 2008.  We will continue to update this section of our site as more information becomes available.
